And whenever you want to try out the 3D-at-home experience, just pick up a pair or two of Sony's 3D glasses. This model includes some of Sony's latest improvements, which make everything you watch look its very best, from Blu-ray movies to YouTube™ clips.

Watching more on the web

Sony Entertainment Network

More and more people these days are turning to the web for day-to-day viewing, so a TV's Internet smarts are important. The KDL-46HX750 includes built-in apps for accessing the Sony Entertainment Network, home to thousands of movies, shows, games and more. You can also stream movies instantly from Netflix® or listen to Pandora® Internet radio through the TV. Built-in Wi-Fi® lets you enjoy entertainment pulled from the web or a PC on your home network without connecting an Ethernet cable. Wirelessly streamed HD video can look surprisingly good.

Behind-the-screen improvements help produce a more natural-looking picture

An ordinary edge-lit LED-LCD TV has LEDs spaced around the frame, and their light is channeled so that it illuminates the screen from behind. Sony's "Dynamic Edge" LED system essentially divides the screen into regions, each of which can be dimmed independently. This is a form of "local dimming," and it provides impressive picture contrast. As a bonus, this smart LED backlight is super energy-efficient, for minimal impact on your electric bill.

Motion processing helps LCD TVs maintain a smooth, sharp picture even when the on-screen action shifts into high gear. Sony's Motionflow™ XR 480 starts by analyzing the motion of specific on-screen objects as well as overall movement. Then it combines 240Hz refresh rate with a high-speed blinking backlight, achieving blur reduction that is equivalent to what you'd see with a 480Hz refresh rate. The enhanced clarity is noticeable whether you're watching video in 2D or 3D.

New ways to connect with and control your TV

It's not surprising that the KDL-46HX750 has four HDMI inputs for connecting all of your high-def sources. But here's something different: In addition to standard Wi-Fi operation, Sony's Wi-Fi Direct Mode completely bypasses your wireless router. The next time your friends want to share photos or videos from their smartphones, they can wirelessly "throw" the content straight to this TV. Also, if you download the free Media Remote™ app you can turn your iPhone®, Android™ phone or Sony Tablet™ into a versatile remote.
